Prayer ties carry our prayers into ceremony. As we make them we are praying. After ceremony they are put in the fire. When they catch fire, the smoke carries the prayers up to Creator.

We will smudge in, sing the protection song and Rick will teach us how to make our ties. We will settle into quiet introspection; we will be making prayers as we make ties. Once your string of ties is made you will present them to Rick with a tobacco offering and he will take them to Sundance.
